GETTING MONEY

ATM’s are readily available in every tourist destination you’ll  likely be visiting and are compatible with US and Canadian banking networks.  The only exceptions will be El Chalten and Torres del Paine in Patagonia where you should plan on having enough spending money to cover you expected purchases.   

You will only be able to withdraw Argentine Pesos from ATMs.  They charge approximtely $4-$5 USD per transaction and have transaction limits of $1,000 pesos.  You can however make multiple withdrawals up to your bank’s daily limit. 

The use of travelers checks is not a comon practice in the country so we don’t recommend bringing them.
